Moving

Today has been the cumulation of the most gueling two weeks of my life both academically and in the "realworld." The move today was a disaster. Acording to my roomate Matt, he extimated that if we started at noon, we would be done by 3. No it definitly took twice that and I think we returned our U-Haul by 6. We auctually finished everything, I mean moving the last thing out of the old apartment, at 10:30.
The money we saved by moving ourselves with the help of a couple of friends will now be spent paying off the fruits of our labor. An estimated $450 in damage was caused today by the two of us combined. We're not liable for all of it but we definetly left a mark everywere we went.
$50 damage to door moving couch out from some craigslist ad
$20 damage to some glass in the elevator on the way down the building
$80 damage to our own couch while moving it into our new building
$50 damage to the paint job in our new building
$115 parking ticket in a bus stop
$150 for crashing into our van into a parked car and knocking off the mirror
Luckily we didn't buy insurance from U-haul. It comes with a $150 deductible so we wouldn't have seen any money ever from them.
I learned a lot today and I think that I'm ready to join the professional moving labor force in NYC.
