Air Time

NYU is cool cause there's a pool with my favorite thing in the world, diving boards. There's two 1 meter bouncy ones and then even a 3 meter one. Unfortunately we can't use the really tall one because it's only for competetion, and also cause if I did, I'd probably hit the metal flag line coming down and slice myself in half. But that's not so bad. It's awsome that I can come at anytime of year and go off a diving board.
But listen to this. When I was at the pool today the lifeguard came up to me and told me these exact words, "Excuse me sir, the management has asked me to inform you that you should wear a swim cap the next time you come swimming." Lame. The management didn't even have the balls to come tell me themselves. Instead they had to send the lifeguard to convey the message. In one day NYU became the coolest and the lamest school that I've eve attended.

A few photos from the summer travels

Some workers in a mine in Bolivia. We were literally inside a mountain. Mine work isn't hard, but the conditions and pay are so bad that it makes it hard.
Me and the coolest travel buddy before descending into the mines. We didn't look this good afterwards.
This his how indigenous Bolivian dress. Notice the cool top hats. Some English guy had a whole bunch of extra hats about 100 years ago so he convinced Bolivian women that the hats were high fashion in England. They haven't stopped wearing them since.

Probably one of the coolest parts of my travels. Celebrations were amazing after Argentinean victories during the mundial.
Skiing in July, the lift ticket cost me $4. Probably the best skiing day of my life.

My friend Jose is in the blue. I saw about 20 whales in about an hour of whale watching. Half the people had never been on a boat before and almost everyone got horribly seasick.

This is the "Arbol de Piedra" which means "tree rock" in English. These are our friends Ester and Sean, another of the many interacial couples that we ran into on our trip.

This guy is filming a music video at one of the higher points of La Paz.

Isla del Sol. The birthplace of human civilization and also the sun. Probably one of the coolest places that I've ever been in my life, not to mention the fact that it is smack dab in the middle of lake Titicaca.

Dental School

Well I'm in dental school now and so far it has been the easiest and biggest waste of time in my life. I'm sure that may change once school starts, but right now its pretty nice while we're doing orientation. This is what my schedule/events calendar has looked like since arriving on last Sunday.

Sunday - Move in and buy stuff for my apartment
Monday - Orientation and meet new students from 9 till 3
Tuesday - Lift and dollar beer night with second year dental school students
Wednesday - Register dental instruments (horribly hard while hung over) and $10 all you can drink night at a bar with a beer pong table
Thursday - Register my computer (which takes 20 minutes) and Wine Party
Friday - Out to a club called Taj with the upper classmen dental students
Saturday - Poker Tournament and then out to the bars again

Part of me hopes that things pick up in terms of having things to do. But at the same time it has been really nice having absolutely nothing and being able to sit on my ass and explore the city at my leisure.

I promise some pictures from south American along with some photos and also much more frequent posts.
